An Open Letter To The Church

It is time for our churches to wake up

I know that you are doing the best that you think you can right now, and I am sorry that we cannot agree on what is right at the moment. But that same “inner voice” that has guided me my whole life, and that same voice that was right every time (I didn’t always listen and in those moments I got into nasty trouble) – that same voice has been eating at me since the beginning of all of this. And it didn’t just start with the pandemic, but it has certainly gotten stronger since this started!

Can’t you see? This isn’t another passing phase in our history books. This isn’t just a pandemic. This is not actually about a virus at all.

I have talked with numerous others. I am not the only one that sees the new “for our own good” protocols are not just about this virus. With all due respect, there are many of us, but no one has the courage to say anything! This is. the whole problem in our society right now, and why the governments are getting away with changing laws and creating protocols without a bigger push back and without following all the typical avenues themselves. Christians and independent thinkers don’t get silenced overnight. Oppression is built over time with gradual seemingly innocent events.

I do not wear a mask in the streets or anywhere else that I can help it and I have publicly hugged every teen and senior whom I’ve ran into in one way or another. I am respectful to those who are being guided by the fear right now, but I am the same person I was 9 months ago and I treat my fellow man the same as I always have as well. What a hypocrite I would be and what kind of an example I would be to my children if I allowed myself to be so easily swayed.

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”

II Timothy‬ ‭1:7‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

You may be right.

This may have nothing to do with the end. But no one can know, and no one even knows exactly how long that final chapter will last. That said, there are too many inconsistencies during all of this and hidden agendas that have been slipped in by our governments while the rest of us weren’t supposed to be paying attention. I don’t know what it’s all leading to and I don’t have to. I can’t make myself unsee what I am seeing, I wish that I could because it would be much easier to live with.

You have always said that God uses the most unlikely people.

Well I am a person who has never had the courage to use my voice and I am still learning. I REALLY do not like confrontation and I get flustered and forget things easily in most in-person environments and essentially lose my voice! I also don’t believe in having an argument or even simply bringing something up without a positive purpose behind it.

Lately, I feel like I’m screaming on the inside and I have to speak up because now I am arguing with God. Who am I to think this way? Who am I to tell? Who would even listen to me? My husband is the one with the voice that is heard – not me!

There is power in numbers, but nobody wants to be first – I have talked with many other church members who see things exactly as I do, and for us, it is extremely difficult to not even have church as our safe space anymore. I have actually really surprised myself with how many people I have spoken to who are like minded on this.

Conformity is easy. Standing against it is hard. Romans 12 tells us NOT to conform.

You may think I’m taking scripture out of context again, but isn’t that what everyone does when they are doing a study or reading it in general. This is a tool that has been given to us by God and can all be lead to any number of interpretations.

God is speaking to me, he is yelling at me and telling me that something is coming. He has been trying to prepare me for years, I just haven’t listened! Now is the time to teach one another to be strong. Now is the time to teach our children how not to conform and our church is missing the mark.

Masks alone are no big deal, putting out signs and hand sanitizer are no big deal but policing it is. Telling people not to question it and simply be sheep of the people is! We are to be HIS sheep. If we as believers cannot listen and stand up now against something before it has had the chance to affect our laws, how are we as Christians supposed to stand up to bigger things like the defence of our very faith and freedoms when it comes – because it IS coming – quickly. You say people are watching us – you’re right! What do they see? We aren’t any different than anyone else when we choose to be blind obedient. followers of society.

“But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away.”

II Timothy‬ ‭3:1–5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

This sounds an awful lot like the world we live in.

All of these new protocols are simply training us back into conformity – getting us sheep back in line and preparing us to blindly accept whatever the future holds – whatever that may be. More importantly, it is training our children!

I am sorry, but I for one am NOT a follower of men!
